All Rides Count in 2020 BCC!

Submitted by Duncan Green

Stay Home, Stay Healthy has been extended through May, but we can still ride our bikes! In fact, around the globe, cities are recognizing that bicycles can play a vital role in providing transportation with good social distancing, helping to clear the air, and providing healthy outdoor exercise while other sports are restricted.

Log your outdoor rides this May in the BCC, whether they are for transportation, recreation, or a mental health break from being stuck at home! Some participants have asked if they can count their indoor rides on their trainer. We say, if that is the only way you can access your bike, then go for it. If you have an accessibility restriction that keeps you from riding outdoors, you may still participate in the BCC indoors. BUT, if you ARE able to ride outside, then just count your outdoor rides in the BCC.

The BCC encourages bicycling as a healthy, sustainable means of transportation, and this year is recognizing the challenges presented by quarantine. Get outside and ride (if you can)!
