5th Annual Winter BCC, February, 2018

The Winter BCC runs for the month of February, with weekly prize drawings among all participants. We'll celebrate International Winter Bike to Work Day  with a photo contest and extra prize drawings! Pedal Power Bike Expo, Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Earth Day Market Ride, Saturday, April 21, 2018

Meet neighbors, enjoy a Saturday bike ride to town, and get a head start on your Bicycle Commuter Challenge miles while you're at it! The miles you ride count as your first commute trip in the Bicycle Commuter Challenge. The Earth Day Market Ride is a great opportunity to gain confidence riding with traffic and meet other riders in your neighborhood. Rides begin in different neighborhoods and converge at the Heritage Park Fountain. Starting points and times, and other details will be posted on this page in early April.
After a snack, a greeting, and a group photo at the Heritage Park fountain, you'll ride to the Olympia Farmers Market, where you can catch some great live music and enjoy the food and shopping!

Coffee, juice and snacks provided at the Heritage Park Fountain by our sponsors Batdorf and Bronson, The Bread Peddler and San Francisco St Bakery.

Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Challenge, May, 2018

The BCC runs for the month of May, and you can sign up starting April 1!

Intercity Transit’s Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Challenge is a fun, free community event that encourages Thurston County residents of all ages and abilities to try bicycling as a means of transportation. Everyone who signs up receives discounts and free passes to local businesses, and is entered to win prizes! More info and a link to sign up will be posted in March.

Bike To Work Day: Thursday, May 17, 2018

Visit one of our 6 Bike Stations!
Join fellow bicyclists for a fun day of riding in our local celebration of National Bike to Work Day. The event promotes bicycling as a healthy transportation option. If you participate, visit one of the bike stations along your way and pick up some “fuel” for you, and even get minor repairs done by a bicycle mechanic at some stations. Bike stations supported by Intercity Transit and the local businesses and organizations listed below. All stations will have copies of the most recent edition of the free Thurston County Bike Map!

Visit a bike station at one of the following locations from 7:00 am to 9:00 am:

Downtown: Heritage Park on 5th Ave. (next to Capitol Lake), sponsored by Old Town Bikes, Batdorf and Bronson Coffee Roasters and The Bread Peddler.

Southeast: Olympia Woodland Trail Entrance on Eastside St. at Wheeler Ave., sponsored by Stevenson Custom Bicycles, Batdorf and Bronson Coffee Roasters and The Bread Peddler.

East Side: Ralph’s Thriftway (1908 4th Ave. E.), sponsored by Ralph’s, Bike Tech, and Batdorf and Bronson

Lacey: Chehalis Western Trail (CWT) and Woodland Trail Intersection (south end of new CWT bridge over Pacific Ave, sponsored by Joy Ride Bikes, Batdorf and Bronson Coffee Roasters and The Bread Peddler.

Tumwater: Capitol Boulevard and Custer Way, in front of South Sound Running, sponsored by Deschutes River Cyclery, Thurston Here-To-There program, Olympia Coffee Roasters and The Bread Peddler.

Inter-Agency Bike Ride, Thursday, May 17, 2018

 (Organized by WSDOT). 

A bike ride and picnic for State and Local Agency employees- a fun way to meet and mingle with other public employees who are biking to work during Bike Month.
For those that work near the Capitol Campus, meet in front of WSDOT headquarters at 11:30 am, . Bring a bag lunch. Some snacks provided.
Riders converge from different agencies at Tumwater Historical Park a little after noon.
If you work farther from campus, see if you can drum up a group to ride from your worksite, and just meet up at the park by shortly after noon.
The BCC will provide a few prizes for drawings, and there may be other activities and prizes too!

BCC Prize Hoopla: Saturday, June 23, 2018

The BCC Prize Hoopla is a fun and fast-paced celebration of our accomplishments as BCC teams and individuals. We'll announce winning teams and individual participants and award prizes. We'll have a few prize drawings on the spot for those present as well, so put your name in the hat! Please arrive promptly at 9:30 am, as we have exactly one hour on the stage. Hope to see you there!
