The annual Bicycle Community Challenge has entered into its 39th year! This free event is open to Thurston County residents of all ages and abilities. Participation is simple and the benefits are endless! In addition to winning great prizes, you will boost your personal wellbeing, reduce your carbon footprint, and connect to your community.

During and after the event, scroll down to view statistics and team results. As you bike, take photos and tag us at #bicyclecommunitychallenge and @walknrollit on social media.

2026 BCC Graphic2026 Theme

This year's theme is "Enjoy the scenery along the route." The slogan aims to recognize that bikes don’t just take us from Point A to Point B, but also to countless significant places in-between. It also encourages riders to take a moment along their next ride to stop and look at a neat fern, say hello to a new person, or to appreciate a piece of our existing bicycle infrastructure. This year’s artwork depicts a cyclist traveling along a multiuse path and through a moss and fern-filled forest. Everyone who logs a ride during the May BCC will receive the artwork on a reflective participant sticker!

Now through 11:59 p.m. on May 1, participants may also order the 2026 BCC t-shirts featuring the design. View the design and order here.
