Each spring the Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Challenge (BCC) provides encouragement and motivation to try getting around by bicycle, with fun events and prizes. Many people are still either not working, or working from home these days, so the BCC is encouraging people to get out on their bikes just for the joy and health of it. Outdoor exercise and fresh air are essential to our health and well-being, and bicycling is a great way to put some fun and pleasure into your day!
This May, join the BCC for our adapted events to make your biking adventures even more fun, and you could win a prize too!
Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Challenge (Scroll down for Team Results):
May 1 through 31, Thurston County, WA residents log your bike rides and we'll enter you to win prizes! This year, all bike rides count, whether it is around the block, a trip to the grocery store, or a solo metric century to the border of the county and back. Mask up if you're near others, follow social distancing guidelines, ride carefully to avoid injuries, and stay local.
Log your rides by midnight on Sunday of each week in May, and each Monday morning we'll do a random prize drawing among everyone who logged rides during the previous week. Prizes include bike gear from Portland Design Works, Ortlieb and NiteRider, plus awesome BCC swag like our coveted coffee mugs, and this year, for members of outstanding teams, a sweet BCC logo recycled canvas shopping tote, water bottle or similar prize!
PLUS, Coupons are back! Everyone who logs a ride at least once in May will receive valuable discount coupons from our sponsors.

How do I participate in the BCC?
If this is your first time here, click on the red “Create Account” button and fill in the required information. If you like, choose a team from the drop-down menu. If you don't see your team or want to start a new team, you can create one after registering, and then add yourself to it on your My Account page. Please look carefully for your team in the dropdown menu before creating a new team- duplicate teams are a pain! You need more than one person to be recognized as a team. Thanks!
Next, you can optionally add family members to your account, such as children or other participating family members with whom you share an email address. This is different than creating a team. This feature is meant to allow children or others without their own email account to particpate in the BCC.
Finally, answer the math question to prove you're not a robot, and click the green "Create New Account" button. A confirmation link will be sent to your email (If you don't see it within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folder). Click on the link in the email to activate your account. Welcome aboard!
