21st Annual Earth Day Market Ride
Saturday, April 18, 2026
About the Earth Day Market Ride
This event, now in its 21st year, is a celebration of Earth Day, of shopping locally, and of the bike community! It also serves as a kick-off for May's Bicycle Community Challenge (BCC)! Rides start at a number of different locations throughout the community, but all converge downtown at the Heritage Park Fountain. This event and the BCC are both intended to be family-friendly and inclusive events. With that in mind, we have intentionally established routes of varying distances and challenge levels. Be sure to view each route for its specific notes.
This is also a safety-conscious event, so we will have police volunteers controlling traffic for us as we ride through the downtown core. Last year, we had a monitored bike valet stand at the Farmers Market. We plan to bring it back this year so people can enjoy some worry-free shopping!
Event Schedule - Saturday, April 18
9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Participants meet at their chosen starting location. All riders should arrive prepared and at their selected meeting point 15 minutes before the group is scheduled to depart.
10:40 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
All groups meet at the Heritage Park Fountain. While we wait for all groups to arrive, we will enjoy local coffee, juice, and tasty snacks. We'll also distribute free stickers and some market tokens.
11 a.m.
We'll do a cheer, a group photo, and a prize drawing! Then it is time to hop back on our bikes and ride together to the Olympia Farmers Market. There, everyone can enjoy live music, shop around, and eat more delicious food!
2 p.m.
Bike valet stand closes.
