2026 Week Without Driving
Thursday, October 1, 2026 - Thursday, October 8, 2026

About Week Without Driving (WWD)
Week Without Driving is a growing movement led by a diverse coalition of local organizations, advocates, government agencies, and elected leaders across the U.S. and beyond. The campaign began in 2021, when Anna Zivarts at Disability Rights Washington launched the Week Without Driving so that policy makers, elected leaders and transportation professionals could begin to understand the barriers nondrivers experienced in accessing their communities.
How can you join WWD?
- Take transit, walk, roll, or ride a bike or scooter.
- The Bicycle Community Challenge is opening a mini BCC to incentivize participation in WWD. If you bike between October 1 through 8, log your rides on the BCC website to be entered into our prize drawing! Prize drawing will occur on Monday, October 12, so log your rides by then.
- Ask for a ride.
- Think about who has transportation options and evaluate what yours are.
- Attend a Week Without Driving event.
- View more ideas on the Week Without Driving website.
